MAY 14 1997 DAY

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

WASHINGTON - Late last evening officials of the Pentagon informed a delegation of the Council of Ministers of B&H, which is paying an official visit to the USA, that the SFOR US soldiers are to withdraw from Republika Srpska and the Federation of B&H by the end of July, 1998 and until then all has to be done on the establishing of stable peace in the region. Namely, it is quite certain that the US troops will withdraw from the B&H in July, 1998 - this being a time of the expiring of the SFOR mandate - even though the US president Bill Clinton believes that it will be necessary to extend the mandate of SFOR's for another 14 months. Besides the talks with officials of the Pentagon, the delegation of the Council of Ministers, which is comprised of the co-chairmen, Boro Bosic and Haris Silajdzic, and the deputy minister of foreign affairs, Dragan Bozanic, also had a series of meetings at the US Congress and State Department.

SARAJEVO - The decision on the holding of the elections in Brcko is a firm, but the statements made by officials of the FB&H, in other words their threats of boycott, are spreading unrest, and we condemn such moves, stated the High Representative's spokesman, Colum Murphy, at a press conference in Pale. 'The electoral process announced by the ambassador Robert Frowick, is progressing and is also backed by the High Representative. The arbiter for Brcko, Roberts Owen, stated clearly that the party which obstructs the rules will be called to account', warned Murphy at the conference.

SARAJEVO - The parade of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) in Prijedor passed safely and without any incident and the RS president, Biljana Plavsic's speech was an encouraging, stated the SFOR spokesman, major Kris Relay, at a news conference in Pale. He said that the international forces are informed of the statement made by the chief-of-staff of the VRS, brigadier general Pero Colic, on the possible offensive of the Muslim Army in August. Relay added that during the recent meeting with Mrs. Plavsic, representatives of the SFOR pointed out that no attack over the inter- entity boundary line will be allowed to none of the armies, neither of the FB&H nor RS.

DOBOJ - Representatives of the Republic Commission on Exchange of POW and Searching for Missing Persons, are going these days to search the Ozren- Vozuca area so to find the bodies of the deceased Serb soldiers and civilians. The cleaning up of the ground is planned for the first two days in the areas of Kablovci, Zecije Brdo and Klupe, near Vozuca, because there is an assumption that there are the mass graves of the deceased soldiers of VRS's and civilians who were killed during the fall of Vozuca into the Muslim hands, announced the Commission.

AMSTERDAM - The decision made by The Hague Tribunal on the declaring of Dusan Tadic guilty for the crimes committed against mankind is just aimed to keep the conferring of this institution, considers a famous professor of law at a Washington University, Diana Orentletcher. The US professor, who participated at the tribune organised recently in Holland by the Amnesty International, on a topic of the Universal Legal Proceeding at an International Trial, believes that this decision has proved that, despite of the lack of evidence on individual guilt, it is still possible to convict an individual for a generally formulated crime against mankind.

DOBOJ - The Association of the Serb soldiers from Mt. Ozren, is going to mark in Petrovo the 5th anniversary of a massacre committed on members of the former Yugoslavian National Army (JNA), who were brutally killed by Muslim extremists in Tuzla, on May 15, 1992. During the evacuation from the city, only 80 persons from Mt Ozren have been identified so far, out of 235 registered missing members of the former JNA.

After the forming of an Agency for mediating in the certain real estate operations of the Croatian government's, the Project on 'the human moving out' of the Serb population enters a final phase and the ethnic cleansing into 'tenderer waters', concludes the paper.

PARIS - Under the title of 'The Serb Villages Burn Nicely', the paper 'European News' published a facsimile of the document of the 28th Muslim Srebrenica Division just a month before the VRS liberated Srebrenica. Under the code of 'The Defence of the Republic - a Military Secret - Confidential', the assistant commander for organisational, mobilisation and cadre affairs of the 2nd Corps, major Akif Kusljugic, forwarded a decision to the 28th Division Command, by which informs the Command that the Divison members who are ordained with the 'Zlatni Ljiljan' will get per DM 500 each.
