VIENNA - The Austrian ruling circles, headed by the Federal Chancellor
Victor Chrum, in the moment of finishing the conference about Brcko,
disclosed the decisiveness of Austria to finance the return of 10,000
Moslem refugees to the region of Brcko. The members of the delegation of
Republika Srpska /RS/ Radomir Lukic, Ljubisa Vladusic and Vitomir Popovic
had a constructive meeting with the president of the Serbian National
Rebirth. The topic was the further improvement of relations between the
leadership of RS and Diaspora, as on informative so the business field.
SARAJEVO - The vice-president of RS government for social affairs Velibor
Ostojic received in Pale the chief of the Section of Council of Europe for
protection the cultural heritage Hose Maria Balester and the representative
of this section in Sarajevo Haike Alefsen. Mr. Balester informed the vice-
president Ostojic with the Plan for protection Cultural monuments and
cultural heritage in the region of RS and Federation B&H /F B&H/, by
which realisation the cultural heritage of RS would be reaffirmed
again and overcome the interrupted course of the cultural happenings
in Europe, caused by war.
SARAJEVO - The president of the Constitutional Court of RS Gaso Mijanovic
stated that the Agreement on special parallel relations between RS and FR
Yugoslavia /SRJ/ from the legal aspect is fully in accordance with the B&H
Constitution, adopted as the annex 4 of the Dayton Agreement. "In the
Constitution was added the regulation on the right of entities to establish
the special parallel relations with the neighbouring countries
and international organisations", precisely stated Mr. Mijanovic.
While commenting the legal basis of the agreement, he stressed that in the
Constitution of B&H is written that all state functions and competence
which by it were not exclusively allocated to the institutions of B&H
belong to entities.
SARAJEVO - The Chairman in the Presidency of B&H Alija Izetbegovic greeted
the nomination of U.S. diplomat Robert Farand for the supervisor in Brcko,
and expressed the expectation that in this city would be formed the "multi-
ethnic police forces". About the results of the yesterday's Conference on
modalities of implementing the decision of the president of Arbitrage
Commission for the Brcko region that they are "within the limits of
expected". Nevertheless, Izetbegovic is "astonished" by the statement of
the High Representative of the international community Mr. Carl Bildt that
the region of Brcko is placed in RS.
