SARAJEVO - Only through law and institutions of Republika
Srpska (RS) the Dayton peace agreement is possible to implement,
stated the RS vicepresident Biljana Plavsic. While passing
comment on a consent of the high representative of the interna
tional community Carl Bildt to negotiate with her, Biljana Plav
sic said that he agrees that "all possibilities offered by the RS
Constitution, allowing her to perform tasks of the president of
the state, should be used". While referring to the upcoming
general elections in September, she explained that "one must pass
certain proceedings before he become a president, the same is
applied to vicepresident", and that "most optimal proceeding are
elections". Carl Bildt stated that "presidential duties are
transferred to the vicepresident, in accordance with the RS
Constitution".
SARAJEVO - Lists of board's candidates to run for the Up
coming elections were verified at the Serbian Democratic Party
(SDS) for RS Main Board session, held in Pale. During tomorrow's
session the Main Board will decide on lists of candidates for RS
National Assembly and House of Deputies of B-H, and most probably
they will give their proposal for RS presidential candidates and
a member of the threepartite B-H Presidency. The Main Board is
also to agree on lists of candidates for boards and assembly
since, according to rules of the Provisional Electoral Commission
one name must not be put on several lists for candidates.
MOSTAR - The Croatian Party of Law (HSP) backs up the Croats
form Soli in their intention to create the Croatian municipality
of Soli. It announced that, in spite Muslim opposition, the
Croats form the Tuzla area would by formation of this municipali
ty, confirm they are constitutive, and that the HSP will do
everything to direct its members and followers to a such demo
cratic display of will of the Croatian people.
