BELGRADE - The RS Army general Djordje Djukic, temporarily
released by the Hague tribunal, arrived today in Belgrade and was
escorted to the VMA.
MODRICA - According to the IPTF, the Croats gave up an idea
to cross RS border and enter the Modrica municipality. The Croats
announced for today a mass coming from the direction of Vuko
savlje, a Serb municipality which according to the Dayton agree
ment belonged to the Croat/Muslim Federation.
BANJALUKA - For the first time, the Hague tribunal's inves
tigators interrogated witnesses of Croat and Muslim crimes in the
Republic of Srpska Krajina, committed during the Croatian mili
tary actions "Lightning" and "Storm".
PRISTINA - The president of the secessionist Democratic
Union of Kosovo Ibrahim Rugova stated in an interview given
Belgium's paper Soar that "Kosovo has its own territory and
borders", and asked that Kosovo be recognised as an independent
state. He said that Kosovo can not stay within Yugoslavia and
said that Siptari are ready to talk with Belgrade, but only
through the mediation of a third side.
BANJALUKA - The Executive Board of the Socialist Party of
Republika Srpska (SP RS), energetically condemned the frequent
incidents at the border between RS and the MuslimCroat Federa-
tion, which were planned and organised by the Muslims. In a
communique, the SP RS pointed out that the incidents "are seri
ously endangering the further implementation of the Dayton
agreement", giving examples of recent events in Novi Grad, Doboj,
Brcko, Brod and Zvornik.
TREBINJE - Representatives of the Greek humanitarian organi
sation "Caravan" arrived in Hercegovina where they will award
twomonth fellowship to the children of dead soldiers.
