SRNA REVIEW OF EVENING NEWS, April 2, 1996Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) DirectoryFrom: Mirjana Petrovic <almirja@cotton.vislab.olemiss.edu>SARAJEVO - At the Republika Srpska National Assembly ses sion, the RS president Radovan Karadzic, stressed the necessity of accommodation of refugees, development of social programme, providing of funds for residents who are depending on the state budget, and the privatisation and distribution of property to those in need. Representatives of the RS National Assembly, adopted a Decision on foundation of bureaus for municipalities, i.e. areas completely or partially incorporated into the Croat Muslim Federation. SARAJEVO - The RS minister for refugees, Ljubisa Vladusic, in his addressing to the Parliament, warned that observance of Law on abandoned property and Law on refugees is not satisfactory in some municipalities. The minister expressed his hope that 50,000 apartments will be provided in the next three months in which 200,000 refugees will b accommodated. SARAJEVO - The president of the RS Parliament, Momcilo Kra jisnik, informed the deputy high representative of the interna tional community, Michael Stainer, of adopted amendments to the RS Constitution. "We expect that amnesty, adopted also by the MuslimCroat Federation, will be tested in the case of colonel Aleksa Krsmanovic", stated Momcilo Krajisnik. MRKONJIC GRAD - The other one mass grave was opened today at the Orthodox graveyard in Mrkonjic Grad which, according to findings of experts, contains mostly bodies mostly women and elders. From the two mass graves, total 110 bodies of Serb sol diers and civilians were exhumed, while only 20 were identified. The experts will continue their work, even though the identifica tion is made all the more difficult because documents or personal belongings were not found together with the exhumed bodies. SRBAC - At the border between the RS and the Republic of Croatia, between Srbac and Dvor, a prisoner exchange was carried out. The Serb side released six Croat soldiers - among whom the chief of Croat Airforce, colonel Vladimir Sumanovac - while 18 Serb soldiers reached Serb territory. The president of the Serb Commission for POW Exchange, Nedeljko Savic, stated that 13 Serb soldiers are still held in Croat prisons. TREBINJE - Representatives of the Hrzegovina Corps of the RS Army, lodged a protest with IFOR because of three day long ma noeuvres of their forces in Herzegovina, completed on March 31. The main direction of the manoeuvres was from Mostar to Neve sinje, Modrin and Kalinovik, and the additional one from Jablani ca and Konjic to Glavaticevo. The Hercegovina Corps Command com plains for the attack of manoeuvre was carried out from the CroatMuslim Federation at Serb territory. NOVI SAD - There is no rational resolution for the integra tion of about 700,000 refugees, but a need to devote to this problem seriously and more organised level is evident everywhere; this is a conclusion from a tribune held in Novi Sad on possibil ities and perspectives of integration of refugees. A special attention was given the economic aspect of refugees, the problem of health system, education and integration of childrenrefugees, prospects of return, and changes that families hosting refugees have faced. AMSTERDAM - Prior to first hearing of the indicted Croat general Tihomir Blaskic, the Hague Tribunal should, tomorrow morning, announce its answer to his plea to defend himself while on bail. /end/ |
