[01] TOWARDS A FULL NORMALIZATION OF RELATIONS BETWEEN YUGOSLAVIA AND CROATIA
Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia visited Zagreb yesterday on a
return visit to Croatia. During the talks with the
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of
the Republic of Croatia Mate Granic, with the respect
for and interest in reaching an agreement, all the major
issues of joint interest for the two countries were
discussed. Mutual readiness was also expressed for
cooperation with the international factors in the
implementation of the peace agreement in
Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Srem and Baranja Region. It
was agreed that the Bureau of the Government of the FR
of Yugoslavia in Zagreb and the Bureau of the Republic
of Croatia in Belgrade will perform some consular
functions in order to facilitate requests and interests
of citizens of the two countries. Foreign ministers have
devoted special attention to the regulation of the
pending economic issues, such as the re-opening of the
highway Belgrade-Zagreb, railway and air traffic, oil
pipeline and telecommunications. (Politika, March 12,

[02] MILUTINOVIC : AGREEMENTS ARE A VITAL LIFELINE
"We have signed agreement which are a vital lifeline,
which are to open great perspectives for rapprochement
of the economies of our two countries and for the
overall cooperation which will lead to the situation
when all the other question in a certain way and in a
given dynamics we shall more easily resolve", stated
Minister Milutinovic at the press conference in Zagreb.
While emphasizing the significance of normalization of
the Yugoslav-Croat relations for further promotion of
the peace process, for peace and global security not
only in this part of Europe, Milutinovic said that there
was special discussion of the need for equitable
treatment of all the sides in Bosnia-Herzegovina and a
prompt engagement of the international factors in the
preparation for the elections and reconstruction, as
priority tasks. "Regarding Srem and Baranja Region, we
have supported the consistent and comprehensive
implementation of the basic agreement and we believe
that it will take its normal course, that all the
refugees and inhabitants will have an equal treatment",
said the Yugoslav Minister. While commenting on the
question of Prevlaka and the access to the sea of the
Republic of Srpska, Yugoslav stand is that these
disputable questions should be solved in the spirit of
good neighborly relations and the agreements reached so
far. Until reaching of the final solution and agreement
between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Croatia,
the security system of the United Nations shall remain
in force, underlined Minister Milutinovic. (Politika,

[03] TALKS ON PROMOTION OF COOPERATION
Russian governmental and economic delegation arrived in
Belgrade yesterday and immediately upon its arrival had
talks in the Government of Serbia with a part of
permanent intergovernmental work group for cooperation
in the field of machine building. Russian delegation is
headed by Anatoly Sochilin, deputy chairman of the
Russian State Committee for Machine Building, and the
representative of the hosts is Minister of Industry of
Serbia Oskar Fodor. During the talks implementation of
the business agreements was discussed, the agreements
reached during the first session held last year in
Moscow. At that meeting representatives of the Yugoslav
car industry have taken part, as well representatives of
the tool machine industry, agricultural equipment,
electrical engineering, power and transport machine
building and producers of equipment for chemical and oil
industry and civil engineering. (Politika, March 12,

[04] TALKS BETWEEN BUSINESSMEN OF YUGOSLAVIA AND REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA
Economic delegation of the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia and of the Republic of Srpska had talks
yesterday in Banja Luka on concrete actions in the
implementation of the recently adopted program of
economic cooperation. Economy of the FR of Yugoslavia is
closely cooperating with the Republic of Srpska and it
is oriented towards a long-term and mutually beneficial
cooperation, said the President of the Chamber of
Economy of Yugoslavia Dr. Mihailo Milojevic. He
underlined that it is necessary to revive previous
economic contacts, links and production and to introduce
new production programs and activate all the resources
so that the production can have a strong momentum. "We
have serious intentions to set in motion everything that
can be activated because in the Republic of Srpska there
are substantial economic resources and good industrial
potentials which must be revived, and what has been
damaged during the war should be repaired", said
Milojevic. President of the Chamber of Economy of the
Republic of Srpska Bozo Antic said: "I hope that our
relations will in future be based on economic
cooperation and economic interest, and less on
humanitarian aid and donations". (Borba, March 12, 1996)
[05] ECONOMY AND MARKET PRESERVED
The projected growth of industrial production in Serbia
this year of 20 percent and a two-fold export in
comparison with last year's will be fully achieved. This
was stated yesterday at the meeting of the central
coordination team for the economic recovery of the
Government of Serbia. During the discussion of the
actual economic trends and necessary measures for an
efficient realization of the targets of economic policy,
it was stated that in the year 1996 it will be possible
to return to their jobs from 70 to 80,000 employed,
which is one half of the number of workers now on
forcible paid leave, as well as opening of some 50
thousand new jobs in industry. "An especially important
fact is that in the relations of our enterprises and
foreign partners there is a more and more dominant
orientation of foreign companies towards a long-term
business cooperation with our economy. This new quality
in the economic cooperation with abroad is confirming
that the absence of our economy from the world market is
being felt and that our strategic orientation in
preserving our economic capacities and manpower is
correct", said Dragan Tomic, chairman of the central
coordination team and Minister Coordinator in the
Government of the Republic of Serbia. (Vecernje novosti,

[06] 'YUMCO' AWARDED INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR QUALITY
Businessmen from 112 countries of the world have decided
that the international trophy for the quality of
products in 1995 be awarded to the "YUMCO" Holding
Company from Vranje, and this was approved by the
Selection Committee in Madrid. Chairman of the Selection
Committee of this prestigious international award in
Spain, Arsenio Pedro Rodriguez, informed us that we have
won a trophy for quality of our ready-made and other
products, said director general of 'YUMCO' Slobodan
Bogdanovic. (Politika ekspres, March 12, 1996)
[07] MUSLIM POLICEMEN BEATEN IN MOSTAR
Center of security services of the eastern part of
Mostar has warned that the killing of a Muslim women two
days ago in the Croat part of town is yet another
premeditated crime, intended to intimidate the remaining
Muslims and force them to move from the western part of
the city. This was reported by the Muslim Radio Mostar.
It is recalled that this is the eighteenth Muslim person
killed in the Croat part of town since the signing of
the Washington Agreement two year ago, when the
Muslim-Croat Federation was established. Over the last
seven days three Muslim policemen from the ranks of
mixed patrol units were beaten, which according to Radio
Mostar, "is an obvious attempt to intimidate Muslim
policemen and force them to abandon joint patrols of the

[08] IN CROATIA EVEN DEAD SERBS ARE VICTIMS
In the article by a special reporter of "The Washington
Post" from Jasenovac, on the occasion of the plan of the
Croat President Tudjman to transform Jasenovac into a
mass memorial not only for Serbs and Jews but also for
their Croat persecutors during World War Two, the
following is written: "Exhumation of earthly remains of
Croat Fascists from other places and their burial in
Jasenovac will make this plateau the only place in
Europe where victims of the concentration camps are
resting side by side with the soldiers who were
persecuting and killing them". Except for mentioning a
false figure of 80,000 Jasenovac victims, the reporter
convincingly proves that Tudjman's government by its
moves is violating human rights both of the dead and
living Serbs. One of the western diplomats stationed in
Zagreb, said with bitterness to the "Washington Post"
reporter: "Tudjman has transformed Croatia into another
Paraguay, a small Latin American country with a
quasi-capitalist system". (Politika, March 12, 1996)
[09] RAMPS FOR KRAJINA SERBS
Croat authorities, in spite of warnings by the
international community to allow the return of Serbs to
Knin Krajina, are preventing their return by various
administrative, police and other methods, claims the
"Ljubljanski dnevnik" newspaper. Pressures are
continuing even after two demands by the UN Security
Council for Croatia to strongly punish perpetrators of
crimes over Krajina Serbs, writes the newspaper. The
return to their homes was officially requested by some
80,000 Serbs exiled from Croatia, writes this Ljubljana
daily, quoting the data of the international
