[01] Draft laws passed by the Senate
The Senate passed in its Thursday session the draft law on the prevention
and punishment of corruption deeds. According to Art.27 the District
Attorney may order for a thirty day period as a result of sound motivation
the control of banking accounts, tapping of telephone conversations,access
to information systems and communication of authentic documents, under
certified signature, of banking, financial and bookkeeping documents.During
yesterday's debates Article 5 of the law was rejected; that article
stipulated the setting up of the AntiCorruption National Committee. The
Senate will resume activity on Monday starting l5.oo hours, Bucharest local
time, informs RADIO ROMANIA AACTUALITATI. Next Wednesday a special plenary
session is scheduled for the debate and passing of two draft laws requested
by the trade unions, namely; the law of ministerial responsibility and the
law amending the law of judicial organization.
[02] Laws under the debate of the Chamber of Deputies.
The Plenum of the Chamber of Deputies resumed yesterday debates on the law
regarding the statute of public clerks. Committees of the Chamber worked
out a supplimentary report on the basis of which essential articles were
adopted with a view to defining public services,public responsibilities and
positions.as well as the statute of the public servant, specifies RADIO
ROMANIA ACTUALITATI.Public clerks will be selected according to competence
and they will have equal chances to be employed and to be promoted.RADOR
also informs that on Friday the deputies will work within their own
constituencies and the plenum of the Chamber is to be reconvened next
Monday.
[03] RASVAN POPESCU -Spokesman of the President of Romania.
Beginning yesterday the spokesman of the President of Romania is Rasvan
Popescu former head of the Department for Public Information of the
Government of Romania. A press conference was held at the Cotroceni Palace
yesterday during which twelve personalities were presented as the new
counsellors to the President of Romania; also presented was the new
structure of the Presidency of this country. According to RADIO ROMANIA
ACTUALITATI the new spokesman of the President said he would make every
effort to reflect the activity of his President as faithfully as possible
and to be the best functional interface linking the Presidency to the
media.
