[01] President Rugova Receives U.S. Envoy Chris Hill
PRISHTINA, Jan 25 (KIC) - The President of the Republic of Kosova Ibrahim
Rugova received today (Monday) in Prishtina the U.S. envoy for Kosova,
Christopher Hill.
Ambassador Hill briefed President Rugova on the last week's Contact Group
meeting in London, in which the situation in Kosova was addressed.
The President and the U.S. envoy discuses about the most recent
developments in Kosova - which they agreed were worrisome and dangerous -
and the steps that should be taken to de-escalate the situation and speed
up the political process in pursuit of a political solution to the Kosova
issue, Rugova's office said.
[02] Five Albanians Travelling on a Tractor Killed by Serb Police in
Gjakova Area
PRISHTINA, Jan 25 (KIC) - Five Albanians, including a woman and two
children, were killed by Serbian police in Rakovin& village of Gjakova on
Sunday evening, sources said.
The Albanians were travelling on a tractor, when they were shot near the
bridge of the Rakovin& village on the Gjakova-Klina roadway, LDK sources in
Gjakova said.
Two men, a woman, and two children, aged 10 and 12, respectively, were
killed, LDK sources said, adding that they were supposed to be members of
the Kelmendi family of Rakovin& village and Kurti family of C&rmjan village
of Gjakova.
The bodies of the killed Albanians were lying in the scene of the crime
until 15:20 hrs today (Monday), when police took them to the Gjakova
morgue.
An 11 member Albanian refugee family was killed last summer in central
Kosova when a Serb shell hit the tractor.
[03] Serb Campaign of Terror against Albanians Continues all over Kosova
PRISHTINA, Jan 25 (KIC) - Serbian police and paramilitary forces have been
reported continuing their campaign of terror against Albanians all over
Kosova.
A number of Serb paramilitaries from Prilluzha village raided the home of
Arif Duraku in Stanofc i Ul&t village of Vushtrri late Sunday evening, LDK
sources in Vushtrri said. The paramilitaries opened fire and smashed up
home furniture.
A Serb police convoy left for Samadrexh& village early afternoon today, LDK
sources said.
In Klina, Serb police forces opened fire in the direction of Albanian
houses in the village of Klinavc Sunday evening. Serb snipers hit the
houses of Bajram Oru^i and Isuf Berisha in the village.
In the village of Gllarev&, Klina municipality, police Sunday abused
physically Ali Krasniqi (57), resident of Per^ev&, and robbed him of DM
200.
A few days ago, Serb police brutalized Dr. Muhamet Ademi, a specialist
physician with the medical center at Barilev& village of Prishtina. While
on his way to treat a patient, the Albanian doctor was halted by Serb
police in Prugovc and hit with automatic rifles' butts, being routinely
called names and a obscurely accused as a 'terrorist'! Muhamet was beaten
unconscious and left lying on the street, sources said.
Police beat up brutally Beqir and Fitim Mustafa from Gllamnik village of
Podujeva municipality. Doctors said Fitim received grave injuries and may
suffer permanent handicaps.
Four Albanian commuters - Lulzim Musa (22), Ferki Peci (23), Behxhet Kurti
(29), and Hysen Ka^iku (35) - were taken from a bus and ill-treated in
Mitrovica today. Lulzim Musa and Hysen Ka^iku were taken to the police
station in town eventually.
Last night, unidentified Serb-speaking persons attacked the family of
Ukshin Tarjani in Piran& village of Prizren. Ukshin Tarjani fired back, and
the attackers ran away, LDK sources said.
Armed and unidentified persons abducted Blerim Haliti (1978) in Ferizaj
Saturday evening. Blerim, who was on his way to work, was forced into a car
and driven in the direction of Gjilan. In the Ferizaj-Gjilan cross-roads he
was dumped unconscious. He received grave body injuries, local sources
said.
[04] Car and Remains of Carbonized Person in State-run Firm's Premises
PRISHTINA, Jan 25 (KIC) - Eye-witnesses told the LDK chapter in Prizren
they saw a burned Golf car and the skeleton of a carbonized person inside
in the premises of the state-run municipal services in Prizren.
