    PRISHTINA, March 7 (KIC) - Serbian forces shelled Saturday afternoon, from 14:30 through 16:15 CET, the villages of Godishnjak and Sallabaj& in the northern Kosovar municipality of Podujeva.

    Three Albanian houses were burned from the shelling, local LDK sources told the KIC.

    Four other villages - Llapashtic& e Ep&rme, Llapashtic& e Poshtme, Buric& and Penuh& - were reported targeted by the Serb armor overnight and today (Sunday) morning, too.

    The local mosque in Penuh& has been targeted by mortar and machine-gun fire, LDK sources said.

    [02] Albanian Neighborhood in Prishtina Suburbs Sealed off by Police

    PRISHTINA, March 7 (KIC) - Heavy Serbian police forces have sealed off an Albanian neighborhood in the southern edge of capital Prishtina since 7 'o'clock in the morning today (Sunday).

    A resident from Emshir told the KIC by phone Serb police, backed up by armored vehicles, has effectively besieged the neighborhood for hours.

    Albanian houses have been reported raided and a number of people taken out and arrested, while automatic weapons fire was heard in the area, sources said. Casualties are feared, but not confirmed.

    Two Serb policemen have been reported shot at and killed in the southern suburbs of Prishtina today morning. The body of at least one of them has been seen by foreign media crews.

    Prishtina has seen a heavy presence of Serbian police, including armoured vehicles with arms at the ready, today morning.

    [03] One Albanian Shot and Wounded by Serb Snipers in Vushtrri Village Today

    70-year-old Albanian, Ibrahim Nemozha, resident of Druar, died Saturday evening while fleeing his village

    PRISHTINA, March 7 (KIC) - Just past seven o'clock in the morning today (Sunday), an Albanian resident was shot and wounded in his native village of Druar ('Drvar'), municipality of Vushtrri, in northwestern Kosova.

    Mentor (Salih) Salihu, 22, was shot and wounded by Serb snipers, local LDK sources said.

    The 70-year-old Albanian, Ibrahim Nemozha, resident of Druar, died Saturday evening while fleeing his village. The population was moving in search of safety towards the ^i^avica mountains, local LDK sources said.

    On Saturday evening, Serbian forces opened heavy guns fire against half a dozen villages in the municipality of Vushtrri - Pantin&, Oshlan, Liqej and Balinc, but also Galic&, Dubovc and other villages along the ^i^avica massif being targeted. There has been no immediate information on casualties or material damage.

    Heavy Serbian police forces moved into the village of Samadrexh& Saturday morning. They were deployed in a Serbian neighborhood in the area, from where they fired in the direction of Vushtrri villages of Pasom&, Ceceli and Dumnic&. The Albanian population of Pasom&, as well as part of the residents of Ceceli and Dumnic& fled their homes.

    Some 15 Serbian police went to the house of a local Serb, Svetislav Rakicevic, in Banjsk& village of Vushtrri Saturday noon. They unloaded weapons from their lorries and started digging trenches around the family compound, local sources said.

    Meanwhile, Serbian police reportedly beat up many Albanians during a raid in the bus station in the town of Vushtrri at 12:30 CET today.

    [04] Local Serbs Vandalize Albanian Businesses in Lipjan for a Second Night in a Row

    PRISHTINA, March 7 (KIC) - Local Serbs vandalized Albanian-owned businesses in the town of Lipjan, 20 km south of capital Prishtina, on Saturday night.

    The previous night, the Serb group of between 12 and 20 persons, vandalized the majority of the Albanian-owned shops, eating and drinking establishments as well as other small businesses in Lipjan, local LEK sources said.
