[07] Italian Prime Minister promises continuous aid for Albania

ROME, Oct. 8 (ata) - By Ylli Pata: Italian Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema promised Albanian President Rexhep Meidani concrete and quick commitment to Albania by the government he is leading, in the context of the Marshall Plan for the Balkans, said to ATA on Friday the adviser of the President Mentor Nazarko.

During the meeting held today with the Albanian President, PM D'Alema expressed the consideration for the positive developments in Albania related to stability.

"Italy-Albania relations are an essential point for the stability and the economic development of Europe with the Region and we must work that the bridge between Albania and Italy become a privileged axis for the relations with the EU," said D'Alema.

Italian Premier pledges in the meeting a greater cooperation for the fight against organized crime and trafficking.
