    KOHA JONE, daily independent.

    - "SP chiefs in districts: Chairman left, long live chairman!" Value of socialist chairmen in districts increases with the nearing of the date of the Congress of SP which will elect the SP chairman. - "Presidency delays rivals of Berisha." The presidency of the Democratic Party postpones the meeting which will declare the rival candidates of Berisha for the post of the chairman. - Albanian 'Delta Forca" created." Public Order Ministry declares new structure of the special forces depending on it.

I will build roads, and if need be, with the aid of police as well, this was the essence of the declaration of the Prime Minister who has observed the course of some road segments of North-South Corridor. - "Socialist youths: Ilir meta chairman."     [03] General Pietro Frisone to take command of NATO forces in Albania on Wednesday

    DURRES, August 29 (ata) - By Gezim Kabashi: On the coming Wednesday, the Italian general Pietro Frisone will take the command of the NATO forces in Albania in the context of the NATO forces in Albania.

    In a ceremony in the airport of Rinas, the commander of the NATO forces in Naples, admiral Ellis will pass the flag of these forces from the present commander John Reith onto the brigade general Pietro Frisone.

    The coming commander of the NATO forces in Albania, Pietro Frisone told ATA that the contingents will consist of about 1 500 Italian military forces and the number will increase soon to 2000 with the presence of Greek, Turkish, Polish and Czech forces.

    The main mission of these forces will be to ensure the roads leading to Kosova and to secure the country and the region. The port of Durres, the Rinas airport and Durres-Mjede-Kukes road will be the priorities of the NATO task in Albania.

    After General Frisone, the unified command for the NATO troops deployed in Albania and Macedonia will be the command of Kosova, led by Mickael Jackson. /dast/xh/

    [04] Be careful of tendentious writings - Albania Foreign Ministry

    TIRANE, August 29 (ata) - By U Bajrami: The press and information department of the Albanian Foreign Ministry refuted on Sunday the writings published today in the press with regard to the alleged arrest of the son of Albanian Ambassador in Belgium.

    According to the office, "these writings are tendentious and lack information."

    "We must explain that the Ambassador of Albania in the Kingdom of Belgium, Idriz Basha, has only two girls," writes the press and information office of the Foreign Ministry in its refutation, suggesting to the papers to review the sources for the wrong information. /a.ke/xh/

    [05] 110 subjects registered in Vlore over August

    VLORE, August 29 (ata) - By Harilla Koci: 110 subjects were registered over August in the branch of taxes in Vlore district, said the chairman of this branch, Anastas Gjipali.

    According to him, the general number of the subjects registered in that branch has amounted 1 700. Gjipali explained that along this, work is going on for the consolidation of the branch of taxes and the increase of incomes.

    It is important that the plan for August be realised by over 100 per cent. Hence, 535 million lek have been encased for the state account, a figure equal with the realisation of this index in the whole past year.

    Gjipali also accepts that there is still to be made especially in the registration of new subjects in the countryside. /a.ke/xh/

    [06] Holbrooke and Thaçi think that only Kosovars should decide for their nation

    PRISTINA, August 29 (ATA) - The U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Richard Holbrook, Albanian leaders and international authorities deployed in Kosove, said during a meeting held on Sunday that they share the same opinion against the division of Kosove and that Kosovars are the ones to decide for Kosove future, sources from Pristine told ATA.

    "We had the same opinion that the Kosovars should be the ones to decide for Kosove even as regards to Serbia, with or without Milosheviç", declared Thaçi after the meeting with Holbrook.

    The Premier of Kosove Interim Government, Hashim Thaçi, and the American ambassador in UNO, Richard Holbrook, held talks for more than two hours behind closed doors. Premier Thaçi was contented for the talks, where the participants agreed on many viewpoints and thoughts.

    We talked about the actual political and security situation in Kosove. The meeting pointed out that the situation was relatively improving", said Thaçi.

    He added that that "in the meeting was agreed the transformation dn demilitarization of Kosove Liberation Army in a multidimensional aspect, and especially in the political, security and defence aspect". We believe that September 19 will be a successful date for KLA and Kosove.

    [07] Naval training "Teuta '99" to be held on Tuesday

    DURRES, August 29 (ATA) - By Gezim Kabashi: The military training "Teuta '99" will be held on Tuesday in the coast area of Durres bay. This training is a result of the cooperation between the Albanian military marine and the 28th Group of Naval Military Marine, dislocated in Durres port, sources from the Italian Expert Delegation (DIE), group which will coordinate the training, told ATA on Sunday.

    According to the same sources, this training aims at achieving concrete objective on creation of a specialized structure close to our naval forces for the search and escape of ships and human lives, who may be in life danger in the open sea.

    Participating in the "Teuta '99" training will be 10 different ships and two helicopters of both military forces in a naval zone starting form Shengjini coast till Durres bay. /lh/A.A/
