[01] Public Order Ministry to take all measures to eliminate illegal emigrants smugglingTIRANE, Oct.25 (ATA) - Public Order Minister Petro Koçi visited Vlore city on Sunday and met with the people affected by Saturday's disaster, with a dinghy blowing up on the sea.He asked from the Vlore police bodies to fully investigate the event. The Public Order Ministry spokesman told ATA on Sunday evening that a Ministry statement says that criminal organizations, working in collaboration with Albania and Italy, are gaining unscrupulous incomes, taking advantage of the people's tragedy and poverty. Illegal emigrants' traffic from Albania to Italy, is a direct assistance in the ethnic cleansing of Kosova, the statement says. The Public Order Ministry will take all emergency measures as well as legal initiatives to eliminate this illegal traffic, the statement concludes. /y.pa/A.A/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[02] Six hospitalised after tragedy on Vlore shoresTIRANE, Oct.25 (ATA) - The Public Order Ministry, in connection with the tragedy when a dinghy blew on the Vlore shores on Saturday night, issued the following statement on Sunday afternoon:"A dinghy with 23-25 people on board set sail for Italy from the Xhaka brothers' beach on October 24 at 21.30. At a distance of 7-8 miles west of the Sazan island, the dinghy suffered a collision and was engulfed by flames. All citizens fell in the sea. Six citizens were at first brought in the shore by an unidentified dinghy and were sent to hospital. This fund will enable the renewal of forests, especially of the oak, in 940 hectares of land. The Ulza zone is rich in these forests, but over the past years the excessive cuts have called their existence in question. Much harmful has been the burning of oak woods for the production of coal. /pas/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[05] 59 milliard leks incomes, 87 milliard leks expenses in nine months.TIRANE, Oct.26 (ATA) - By A.Gjata: The budget incomes for the nine month period are realized by 59 milliard leks or 94 % of the period plan that is 69% of the year plan.The expenses are realized by 87 milliard leks or 81% of the period plan, that is 58% of the year plan. The main indexes with low incomes are: the wages plus the social security contributions, economical assistance and the capital expenses in total. During the 9 month period the budgetary deficit was 27.5 milliard leks or 62% of the period plan that is 44% of the year plan. The budget in 1998 is according to the FMN and World Bank parameters and expressed the engagement of the Albanian Government to carry on the reforms in Albania. The incomes are foreseen to be increased up to 100 milliard leks and the expenses up to 150 milliard leks in this year budget. /pas/A.A/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[06] Forty-four foreigners aiming illegal crossing to Italy detainedTIRANA, Oct 26 (ATA)-Forty-four foreign nationals, intending illegal crossing to Italy were detained on Sunday afternoon by the police in the outskirts of the Vlore city.According to the Spokesman of the Public Order Ministry on Sunday afternoon the Vlore district police forces, at the site called Pylli i Sodes, detained 44 people, all foreigners, waiting to cross to Italy. Thirty-one of them are Iraqis, eight Kurds and five Pakistanis. All of them had travelled to Albania by land from Greece and, after being accommodated in the Vlore city, they set sail towards Italy by speedboats on Saturday but were intercepted and ordered by the Italian police to turn back. Meanwhile they stayed hidden at Pylli i Sodes to undertake another incursion towards the Italian coasts. The spokesman said that after their identity is fully verified and all respective procedures are carried out, they all will be sent to the country they have come from. /s/s/lm/ Albanian Telegraphic Agency[07] Serbian forces not withdrawn from MalishevePRISHTINE, Oct 26 (ATA)-In the villages of the Malisheve commune, the Serb police forces have deployed some of their heavy armaments underground and others in the mountains of this commune, says the Kosova Information Centre (KIC), referring to sources from the spot.The humanitarian crisis of around 18 000 Albanian civilians displaced form the communes of Kline, Rahovec, Gjakove and Malisheve keeps deepening, the sources say adding that in the commune of Shtime the police are hindering the return of the inhabitants to their villages. Democratic League of Kosova (LDK) sources say that yesterday, inhabitants of the Recak village, two kms from Shtime, were forced to leave their homes again, when a police expedition entered the village. For the first time since the beginning of the year, US$ 1 was exchanged by 140 Leks. At the Savings Bank today US$ 1 was equal to 139 leks while on the free market US$ 1 cost 140 leks. Last weekend, US$ 1 on the free market was 141.5 leks.
