[01] Press ReviewTIRANA, Feb 14 (ATA) - Today's press highlights a brief commentary of the Albanian prime minister Fatos Nano on Friday on the main events in the Albanian politics this week, after a meeting in the Palace of Congresses on the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Academy of Science. The Albanian prime minister Nano seemed pessimistic in face of a possible meeting with its opponent, Sali Berisha, which according to analysts, could have changed the direction of political development in Albania. This is how the daily Koha Jone reports on this meeting under the title "Meeting with Berisha does change nothing." It also publishes the responses Nano gave to three questions of journalists. "I continue to be, with my ministers, more motivated in the work and the results are becoming evident," replied Nano to a question whether he is satisfied of the work of his cabinet. Asked about a report of the Ngjela commission to parliament, the Albanian prime minister said: "I am quietly waiting, for every commission to carry out its task and, though the commission was set another deadline, I am convinced that the institutions can cooperate. Asked about a possible meeting with Berisha, Nano replied: "You think that the meeting of Muji and Halili will raise the blockage in the Albanian policy?", the daily Koha Jone says. "Nano is not going to meet Sali Berisha," is the title of the article carried by the daily Gazeta Shqiptare, which says that the leader of the Socialist party is not optimistic for the meeting, at a time when Meidani is expected to make public the invitation. The daily Shekulli says in the title "Nano refuses the invitation to debate," while Dita Informacion after underlining that "Meeting of Muji and Halili is in vain," quotes Gjinushi as saying "Berisha cannot be corrected in that age," and Godo "It is good to be tried." In a meeting with representatives of the Albanian community in Turkey, Meidani called on all the political class to "work, free of partitisms, for the solution of the national issue." Dita Informacion in its article "President ends Turkey visit," analyses Meidani's busy agenda in this friendly country and says "with this visit Albania and Turkey mark a step forward in their bilateral relations." "Three Turkish days of the president Meidani," is the title of the article carried by Shekulli which echoes the visit focusing on the tete-a- tete meeting with his Turkish counterpart Sulejman Demirel. Rilindja Demokratike carries an article on this visit entitled "President Meidani, the lonely of Rinas." s.sh/ak/ (more) Press review The daily Koha Jone covers the reaction of the minister of Finances Malaj to an accusation the Democrat leader made in a news conference against him, Brokaj and Gjinushi.
