    TIRANA, SEPT 13 (ATA)-By D. Kaloshi, The funeral Mass of Mother Teresa, who was escorted to her final resting place in a unforgettable ceremony in Calcutta of India, was celebrated at the catholic Church "The heart of Christ" in Tirana, on Saturday.

    Hundreds of believers, under light of candles, prayed during the church ceremony for the soul of Mother Teresa.

    "The whole world turns its eyes to Calcutta, where this very simple woman separated from the world, which she served so much with her example, and won the greatest award of the Mother of the World," His Holiness, Apostolic Nuncio, Mons. Giovanni Bulaitis said.

    Also present at the Mass was Albanian Prime Minister Fatos Nano, Deputy Parliamentary Speaker Namik Dokle, Foreign Minister Paskal Milo, Minister of State Kastriot Islami.

    During the three days of national mourning, Albanians paid homage to the work of the Albanian, Mother Teresa.

    Saturday evening the Albanian Radio Television broadcast a direct programme devoted to the Nobel Peace laureate.

    A governmental delegation, headed by President Rexhep Meidani, attended the funeral of Mother Teresa.

    The Albanian President was the first head of state to place the wreath around the open casket of Mother Teresa. kei/lm/k

    [02] SQUARE IN FRONT OF TIRANA UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER MOTHER TERESA

    TIRANA, SEPT. 13 (ATA)-By D. Kaloshi, The Tirane Municipality, in order to perpetuate the figure of the outstanding Albanian benefactress, Mother Teresa, named the central square, in front of the Tirana University after Mother Teresa.

    "Naming this square after Mother Teresa, the citizens will have amongst them the Great Saint", Tirana Mayor Albert Brojka, said at the ceremony held on the occasion on Saturday afternoon.

    "I bow with deep respect before this figure, because she enhanced the dignity of Albanians, people who have to cope with new challenges," Nano said. kei/lm/k

    [03] ALBANIAN AWARDED PRIZE OF BEST ACTOR IN CAIRO'S THEATRE FESTIVAL

    DURRES, SEPT 13 (ATA)- By G. Kabashi, Albanian actor Mirush Kabashi was awarded the prize of the best actor in the ninth edition of the international festival of experimental theatre, held in Cairo recently.

    Kabashi interpreted the role of Socrates in the drama of Costas Varnalis "Real apologue of Socrates".

    Fifty-three troupes from 40 countries of the world took part in the festival. Albania was represented in this activity by two troupes: The National Theatre with the drama "Real Apologue of Socrates", with producer Gezim Kame, and the Experimental Drama Studio of the Academy of Fine Arts with the play "The Fantastic".

    Luigi Maria Musati, head of the jury, chief of the Dramaturgy chair of the Academy of Arts "Santa Cecilia" in Rome, evaluated Kabashi's interpretation as extraordinary and excellent. a.ke/kei/lm/k

    [04] ALBANIAN CAPITAL AGAIN WITHOUT WATER

    TIRANA, SEPT 14 9AAT0- By S. Spahiu, Whole areas of the Tirana city again remained without water on Sunday, although the Water Supply public enterprise had announced earlier that this problem would have been resolved this morning.

    Saturday morning unidentified persons blew up the main water pipeline.

    The drinking water supply has become a problem in Tirana of late.

    In order to prevent misuse of water, the Tirana police have blocked the work of some 70-80 carwash stations and construction firms, which through illegal connections, use the drinking water.

    An agreement was signed recently for resuming works for the Bovilla water pipeline construction which were interrupted by the beginning of March because of the recent riots in Albania. kei/lm/k

    TIRANA, SEPT. 14 (ATA)- Under the headline "Albanian President Rexhep Meidani places the first wreath near the coffin with the body of Mother Teresa", Zeri i Popullit says:"The whole world pays homage to the Albanian saint".

    The paper also says that Foreign minister Paskal Milo ends visit to Greece, adding that Greece will provide two billion drachmas in free aid for Albania.

    As regards the end of the visit of Turkish Defence Minister to Albania, the paper says:"Full understanding on issues discussed". The paper reports on the damage of the capital's water pipeline because of an explosion.

    Rilindja Demokratike says:"Zani (chief-bandit of Vlore" idles in Tirana". The paper carries the editorial:"The government of protests". It carries the funeral ceremony of Mother Teresa under the title:"The world escorts Mother Teresa to Paradise".

    Under the headline:"1000 creditors of VEFA, against the Nano government acts", the paper says: The protests 'We want our money" starts'".

    The paper considers Albanian premier's tour of Europe a failure.

    Republika carries the editorial:"Usuries - Government between two fires". It also carries the article:"Democrats will take part in the round table on Constitution".

    Koha Jone says:"Mother Teresa-soul of Eagle", and "Painful parting with the living saint". The paper also says:"EU will discuss the Kosova issue".

    Under the headline:"Over 2000 creditors protest against the government - Police injure creditors", newspaper Albania says:"Nano, give back our money!".

    The paper covers the funeral ceremony of Mother Teresa under the title:"World today is an orphan".

    The paper says in a chronicle that "Thirty-seven people have been killed and 35 injured over the seventh week of the socialists' governing".

    Dita says:"Anti-contraband:arms' hunting begins". The paper covers the funeral ceremony of Mother Teresa, under the title :"The world bids farewell to its Mother in tears and rain".

    Gazeta Shqiptare says:"Usuries, protests resume", as well as "Attack on the capital's water pipeline". kei/lm

    [06] "VEFA" CREDITORS NOT CONFRONTED WITH POLICE

    TIRANA, SEPT. 14 (ATA)-By S. Sharrexhi, Some 300 to 400 creditors of the VEFA company blocked the traffic for several minutes on Saturday, but they were not confronted with police.

    The creditors were waiting to meet the VEFA president, Vehbi Alimucaj, in one of the company's affiliate in Tirana.

    "As Alimucaj was not coming to the meeting, which he himself had requested, the angry creditors took to the streets blocking the traffic for 10 minutes," the head of the Tirana Police Department, Colonel Pashk Tusha, told ATA.

    After the police forces explained the law on protests and gatherings, the demonstrators dispersed without causing incidents. s.sh/kei/lm/k

    [07] POLICE ARREST FOUR PERSONS AFTER DAMAGE TO WATER PIPELINE

    TIRANA, SEPT 14 (ATA)- By S. Sharrexhi, Police forces of Commissariat 1 in Tirana on Sunday arrested four persons in the Shkoze area, Tirana suburb, where the water pipeline was damaged on Saturday, as weapons ammunition and explosive devices have been found in their houses.

    The arrested are Refik Shehu, Sadik Elezi, Muharrem Shabani and Fejzi Aliaj, police sources confirm. s.sh/kei/lm/k
