    TIRANA, JULY 27 (ATA) - The Police commissariat no 3 in Tirana reports that the forces of this commissariat detained on Sunday morning the citizen Arben Xhemal Peposhi, 26, inhabitant in Koder Kamez, Tirana.

    This person has been very wanted by the police, because some months ago he escaped from the jail where he served the punishment of 25 years, accused of killing a citizen. /a.ke/kei/mt/k

    [02] PRESS REVIEW

    TIRANA, JULY 27 (ATA) - Under the headline "The ambitious plan of the Government of Premier Nano tomorrow in the parliament," Zeri i Popullit reports "Government of all the Albanians", carrying an interview with Prime Minister Fatos Nano. The paper also reports that USA wished President Rexhep Mejdani and Premier Fatos Nano for their posts. The paper carries an interview with the Minister of Finances, Arben Malaj, under the title "Maximal engagement to use the financing with efficacity."

    Rilindja Demokratike under the headline "Scandal in the June 29 polls. Foreign observers, friends of the armed gangs,", reports "OSCE collaborated with Zani". The paper publishes a photo of the OSCE team chairman for Vlore, Hans Picslher with Zani Caushi and two other OSCE observers. The paper carries the editorial "Government of rebellion," and also reports "Nano provokes the unity of the country."

    Republika writes "Ceka (Interior Minister) divides the government into two parts." The paper also reports "DP curses Fatos Nano."

    Rilindja carries an interview with Fatos Nano under the title "We will restore order. Everyone supports us." The paper carries opinions of the Albanian press of Kosova, with regard to the shifting of power in Albania, as well as covers the meeting of Nano with Kosova representative in Albania, Iliaz Ramajli.

    Albania paper writes "USA: Vefa should collapse," as well as it carries the editorial "Anti-Catholicism-anti-nationalism." Under the headline "Second day of Minister Ceka", the paper reports "31 killed and 60 injured throughout Albania".

    Demokracia paper publishes the message of Albanian President Rexhep Mejdani addressed to the Albanian people, as well as the wish of the HRUP chairman, Vasil Melo, addressed to Mejdani on this occasion.

    Koha Jone report "DP: Europe, weights the cents," and carries the editorial "SP, the danger is inside." The paper reports "The Government: Rebellion is expected in SP." The paper publishes an interview with the wife of the newly elected President of Albania, Lidra Mejdani, under the title "Mrs Mejdani: Here are the presidential intimacies."

    Dita paper reports "The criminals should be hung", with regard to the authors who planted explosive matter in a flat in Peshkopi, where several people died. The paper carries an exclusive interview with President Mejdani under the title "The policy and science have on their basis the rationality."

    [03] INHABITANTS OF TEPELENE OCCUPY SOCIAL-CULTURAL OBJECTS

    TEPELENE, JULY 27 (ATA) - By H Cani: The inhabitants of the town of Tepelene have been accommodated since the beginning of riots in many of the social-cultural objects of the town.

    "Some of the occupied objects are considered as the most important investments of this town," said the chairman of the district council, Sotir Ceka.

    The building of the kinder-garden, the dormitory of the high school of the town, the day-nursery, etc, are now private properties of different citizens.

    Sources from the prefecture of Gjirokaster report that the same phenomena has been also noticed in other districts of this prefecture, but as soon as the justice institutions will start functioning, legislation is thought to be restored. /a.ke/kei/mt/k

    [04] NEGOTIATIONS OF ALBANIAN RAILWAY LEADERS WITH EU EXPERTS

    DURRES, JULY 27 (ATA) - By Gezim Kabashi: In the General Department of Railways in Durres, the leaders of the Albanian railways held meetings with the experts of the European Union to make concrete the project of PHARE program on according 1 million ECU, in the framework of the Railway Corridor East-West.

    From this investment, 350 000 ECU will be used for the reorganization of managing and drafting of the railway legislation.

    Meanwhile, according to the specialists and experts, it is calculated that for the construction of the railway segments from Lini to the Al banian-Macedonian border, 3 km, and from Pogradec to Follorine, 136 million USD will be spent.

    [05] FRANCE BRINGS AID FOR ALBANIAN ARMY

    DURRES, JULY 27 (ATA) - By Sotiraq Gjordeni: The French ship "Southern Trader", loaded with special aid for the Albanian army, arrived on Saturday in the port of Durres.

    The ship brought 14 light military vehicles and 23 containers with different materials, which were immediately sent to the reserve depots of the army.

    Another quantity with military materials will arrive on Sunday, completing the sum of 1,5 million frances, accorded recently by France for the restoration and modernisation of the Albanian army.

    This is the first aid which arrives from the Western European countries since the riots swept Albania, which led to the dissolution of the army. /a.ke/kei/mt/k

    [06] DP SECRETARY MEETS HIS COUNTERPART OF PASOK

    TIRANA, JULY 27 (ATA) - The Secretary General of the Albanian Democratic Party, Genc Pollo, asked on Sunday the Secretary General of PASOK, Skandalidhis, to stop the deportation of the Albania n emigrants from Greece.

    Pollo demanded this in a meeting held by midday in the DP headquarters, attending were also the DP foreign secretary, Leonard Demi, and the Greek ambassador in Tirana, Prevendurakis.

    "The Albanian-Greek relations and the open cooperation to the good of both countries and the whole region, which DP had with the Government of Simitis, should continue for our people and the stability in the region," was stressed in the meeting.

    Skandalidhis, expressing the will of his party for the continuation of the good and stable relations with Albania, said that PASOK does not have any special preference on any political force in Albania, but asks contacts and cooperation with all the Albanian political spectrum.

    Pollo presented the current situation Albania is experiencing now, as well as the stands of DP.

    Pollo considered "the unprecedented violation of the proportional list and the exclusion from it without any legal base of the two members of the Union for Democracy coalition, example of the rebellion." /a.ke/kei/mt/
