  • [01] 15 ALBANIANS SENTENCED TO 264 YEARS IN PRISON IN KOSOVA

PRISHTINA, JULY 11 (ATA) - The Serbian installed court in the capital of Kosova, Prishtina, sentenced on Friday 15 Albanians to 264 years in prison. 11 people were sentenced to 20 years, two to 15 years, one to 10 years and the last to 4 years in prison.

"Dragonian sentences without any proof for an accusation of terrorism. This is a savage judiciary terror and medieval persecution," lawyers said to ATA correspondent.

The newest series of Serbian trials against Albanians in Kosova with false accusation of terrorism started in May this year with the conviction of 20 youths to 107 years in prison. Other dozens of Albanians, terrorised and tortured in prisons will face soon the Serbian trial which is expected to give heavy sentences.

Claims on a "fight against terrorism" are invented by the authors of the Serbian terror in Kosova and used to kill, arrest and convict Albanians, Albanian political parties and organisations in Kosova said. They have asked that frequent incidents and killings in Kosova which are unclear be investigated by Interpol and FBI.

Since the manifestations of 1981 which asked for a Republic status of Kosova, the Serbian Court has ruled over 30 thousand years in prison to Albanians with accusations related to politics./ag/pas/sh/
