[01] PRESIDENT BERISHA MEETS INHABITANTS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN ALBANIATIRANA, MAY 22 (ATA)-By F.Vladi, A.Frasheri,Albanian President Berisha met with inhabitants of Perrenjas and Librazhdi towns (Eastern Albania) and inhabitants of Hotolisht and Dorez villages of Librazhdi on Wednesday. Berisha congratulated the inhabitants of Perrenjas for their support for the Democratic Party in March 1992. Berisha told them that:"We will not abandon mines" and that "we have assigned experts to study the mine and are going to reach an agreement for the extraction of 500 tons of iron-nickel per year." Berisha told the Hotolishti inhabitants not to be deceived by the red front alternative because they had voted against the law of the land transaction. This, he said, showed that they still were supporters of the Marx idea which is against the right to property and inheritance. Berisha also visited the mountainous village of Dorez, Librazhd, and met with hundreds of inhabitants of this commune. He said that the DP is sure of its victory. He added that the education and health will again be free and the villagers' pensions will increase. The president met with Librazhdi inhabitants on Wednesday afternoon and stressed that the DP programme is social. He told them that DP promises Librazhdi telephone with prefix, reconstruction of infrastructure, investments in the food industry, free movement and schooling. "Elbasan's support to the DP government has contributed to the successes of its governing," Berisha said at the rally held on Wednesday afternoon in Elbasan in which took part some 25 000 people. "We will turn Elbasan into one of the most important and developed industrial zones of the country". Declaring Elbasan a Free Zone and the creation of the Industrial Park, the speedy employment at home and the seasonal one abroad, investment in infrastructure and in villages would also serve this goal," said Berisha. Albanian Telegraphic Agency[02] CONFUTATION BY CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSIONTIRANA, MAY 22 (ATA) - By R Floqi:The Central Election Commission said in one of its recent reports that various papers, mainly the Koha Jone newspaper have had continuous speculation and distortions. "In a special feature entitled "Memory to the voter," this paper distorts evidently the law on elections to the People's Assembly and instructions of the Central Election Commission when it says that nationals should by all means vote after having the following documents: Indentification card, a passport for travelling abroad or a certification with a photo issued by the Civil Registration Office." Central Election Commission said that it also considers valid a special certification without a photo, but with the note 'Valid for May 26, 1996 elections.'" "The Central Election Commission, as the only competent body to see the execution of the above law, attracts the attention of all nationals and the constituencies commissions to apply only the instructions from this commission," a report of the commission says. The election commission, according to Article 84 of the law on Elections to the People's Assembly is entitled the right to make responsible all those who violate law provisions. Albanian Telegraphic Agency[03] MEETINGS OF CANDIDATES FOR DEPUTIES OF POLITICAL PARTIES CONTINUETIRANA, MAY 23 (ATA) - Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Skender Gjinushi yesterday met with inhabitants of Has district.He said in the meeting that the state should follow a social policy in defence of various strata of the population in this transition period. In the meeting in Fushe-Arrez, Gjinushi treated the objectives and perspectives opened by SDP programme regarding the development of different sectors in the city and countryside. In Puka, Gjinushi said that SDP consolidation is indispensable to balance the coming Albanian parliament. Republican leader Sabri Godo had meetings with electorate of 38th c onstituency yesterday in Durres, where he is a candidate for deputy. The fight against corruption is in the program of the Republican party, said Godo. On May 20, the Human Rights Union Party, branch of Gjirokastra, held a rally in which HRUP chairman Vasil Melo spoke about a party coalition to run the country in the coming four years. He stressed HRUP should take a dignified place in this coalition. Leaders of the Democratic Alliance Party (DAP) said in a rally in Tirana yesterday that they would cooperate without distinction with all political forces in Albania, except DP. On May 21, deputy chairmen of the National Unity Party Bedri Dedja and Ilir Mborja had a meeting with the electorate of Ballsh city, where they called on electors to vote for the candidate for deputy of their party. The branch of the Movement of Legaliteti party in Durres presented two candidates for deputy in the coming parliament, Lluka Prifti and Osman Audedja. The party branch chairman for Durres Kadri Dajko explained the program of the Movement of Legaliteti party. The candidate for deputy of the HRUP branch in Saranda, Thoma Mico, had meetings recently with the electorate of his zone which included 67 villages of the districts of Saranda and Delvina. Albanian Telegraphic Agency[04] SOCIALIST DEPUTY CHAIRMAN MEETS WITH ELECTORATETIRANA MAY 23 (ATA)-Socialist deputy chairman Servet Pellumbi met with inhabitants of the Erseka, Bilishti, Korca and Pogradec cities and presented the candidates and electoral programme of the Socialist Party.Pellumbi repeated the simple messages for free elections and peaceful handing over of the power. "With the Socialist Party we will build the genuine democracy". This was the synthesis of messages and slogans of Pellumbi's meetings. He met with inhabitants of Pogradec and stressed the main political, economic and social solutions included in the electoral platform of the Socialist Party. Pellumbi said that the Socialist Party offers chances for building a genuine democratic society. It has drafted a realist programme which not only intends victory in the May 26 elections but also the country's governing in the next four years. Pellumbi on Wednesday met with the electorate in Peza, Tirana village. He called on the inhabitants to keep the vote at any cost.
