NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BIJELJINA - The president of National Assembly of Republika Srpska /NARS/ Dragan Kalinic could not precisely say whether the agreement was reached on holding the scheduled session of parliament. "It seems that some solution is about to appear. We shall see during the night and next day whether the events will go in favour of that" - concluded Kalinic briefly in the statement for SRNA after consulting meeting in Bijeljina with the chiefs of clubs of delegates of Serbian Democratic Party /SDS/, Serbian Radical Party /SRS/, Serbian People's Union /SNS/, and Socialistic Party of RS /SPRS/.

BIJELJINA - SNS and SPRS are not accepting to participate in the work of continuation of Second Session of NARS, which its president Dragan Kalinic scheduled for tomorrow in Bijeljina" - stated for SRNA the chief of Club of delegates of SNS in NARS Svetozar Mihajlovic. After consultations of chiefs of delegate clubs in Bijeljina, he stated that delegates of SNS and SPRS can participate only in the work of new, the third session of RS parliament. "It was agreed that the third session of NARS should be held on January 31 in Teslic, and preparatory meeting on January 28 in Bijeljina" - precisely stated Mihajlovic.

SARAJEVO - The president of NARS Dragan Kalinic interrupted the Second session of NARS in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of National assembly, because the vice-president of parliament Jovan Mitrovic was not authorised to continue the session. This is one of assessments of Legislative-law commission of NARS which was sent to president Kalinic and delegates, and which on the demand of president of Assembly analysed in details the new situation and determined whether the Rules of Procedure was violated.

SARAJEVO - The president in Presidency of B&H from RS Momcilo Krajisnik talked in Pale with the charge d'affaires of U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo Mike Senko about the current political situation in RS. In the announcement from Krajisnik's Cabinet, forwarded to SRNA, is stressed that Mr. Senko was particularly interested for the issues related to the functioning of the Government, as well as for holding next session of NARS.

BANJA LUKA - The president of RS Government Milorad Dodik expressed in Banja Luka the contentment with the yesterday's visit to Belgrade and support of leadership of Serbia and FR Yugoslavia /FRY/, which, according to him, would result in peaceful and correct handing over of the duties between former and new ministers. At the second session, by which presided the prime minister Dodik, was accepted the report about the visit of the high government delegation and talks which it held with president of FRY Slobodan Milosevic and president of Government of Serbia Mirko Marjanovic. The vice-president of Government and minister for governing and local self- government Ostoja Kremenovic reported in details about crating the Operative plan of Government for the period from January 31 this year.

BANJA LUKA - The RS Government assessed at the session in Banja Luka that the arbitrage about the dispute inter-entity boundary line in the region of Brcko is of the particular importance for RS and announced that this issue will be contained in the Operative plan. The report about the until now course of the arbitrage process, without presence of public, submitted the agent of the former government Radomir Lukic. Until the end of the month the Government will hold the work session in Brcko at which would be determined the priorities and ways of solving problems in this municipality.

BIJELJINA - SRS has many objections on ways and procedure of forming new government of RS, as well as the fact that such government was formed along the assistance of Moslem delegates, but in spite of that cannot dispute its legitimacy - stated in Bijeljina the leader of radicals Vojislav Seselj. Seselj stressed that "SRS will not participate in creating any kind of incident situation" and pointed out on "the need to low down tensions in the next period and show political patience".

SARAJEVO - The minister of Internal Affairs in the newly elected Government of RS Milovan Stankovic indicated making the agreement which anticipates that registering plates for vehicles in B&H "would be of neutral design, without national signs" - reports Reuters. Stankovic thinks that "this compromise proposal is acceptable for both parties, since on the plates would be used both Cyrillic and Latin letters".
