NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
BANJALUKA - The president and vice-president of Republika Srpska (RS),
Biljana Plavsic and Dragoljub Mirjnic, talked in banjaluka with the special
envoy of the head of UNHCR, Carol Fober, about the return of refugees and
displaced persons and the implementation of relevant aspects of the Dayton
agreement. President Plavsic said Mr. Fober understood that the issue
of return of refugees and displaced persons cannot be solved "by
an order form above", because any decision on this matter requires
the consent of people.
SARAJEVO - The president from RS in the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik,
talked in Pale with deputy Russian foreign minister of Russian foreign
affairs, Igor Ivanov about the implementation of the Dayton agreement.
Krajisnik favoured the meeting and said Ivanov offered options and
suggestions for an improved implementation of the Dayton agreement, for the
sake of endurable peace in the Federation of B-H and RS.
SARAJEVO - The president from RS in the B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik
received in Pale a newly-appointed German ambassador to Sarajevo, Graf von
Basevic - announced Krajisnik's spokesperson Mirjana Kusmuk. During the
talks, German ambassador presented the attitude of the official Bonn that
the implementation of the civil part of the Dayton agreement must be
intensified and accelerated.
SARAJEVO - The RS and Federal prime ministers, Gojko Klickvic and Edhem
Bicakcic, stated, following their meeting in Pale, that they entered a
final stage of negotiations over the operation of the railway sector and
expressed hope that the questions concerning the movement of goods from one
entity to another will be solved. "Our wish is to enhance trade between
entities. The movement and marketing of goods from one entity to another
must e placed under control. It is not about goods coming from third
countries to B-H, because they are subject to customs regulations, but our
task is to prevent illegal trade", specified RS prime minister Gojko
Klickovic.
HAMBURG - The main reason why a genuine peace has not arrived to B-H even
after a year and a half of the cessation of hostilities and why the
prospects of return of refugees are so slight, is the Dayton agreement
itself, concludes the Berlin paper "Veser Kurir". The Paper writes that an
intention to establish peace through reincarnation of the multiethnic B-H
failed in reality, because the borders of this state were drawn by arms,
and then internationally recognised and administratively demarcated.
