MAY 19 1997 DAY
NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
BANJA LUKA - The meeting of the president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana
Plavsic with the director for the relations with other countries of the EU
General Office for the Foreign Affairs Katerine Day, scheduled for today in
Banja Luka, is delayed for tomorrow. As we are informed, the reason for
delay is because Mrs. Day didn't come.
SARAJEVO - The minister of Sport and Youth in the Government of Republika
Srpska Rajko Papovic agreed with the Portuguese Ambassador to B&H Antonio
Tanger Core in Pale to have the meeting between the football representation
of RS and veterans from Portugal, lead by famous Eusebio, for May 24 in
Rogatica. A series of other meetings was agreed between RS and Portugal,
about which we shall be informed soon, after the meeting of minister
Papovic with his Portuguese counterpart.
PARIS - The Hague tribunal cancelled the principle of the individual quilt
which is valid since the very beginning of the judiciary and proclaimed for
all Serbs the principle "of objective quilt" - it is the precedent on which
warns the "European News" in the review "Hague did not see the justice" of
the Belgrade's journalist and publicist Dejan Lukic. Lukic highlights that,
in accordance with this principle, the leader of Serbian people in
Republika Srpska Radovan Karadzic is responsible for killing every single
Moslem in the past war, although he issued a series of orders, sometimes
under the threat of punishment, about strict complying with Geneva
Conventions, War and all other international Laws. If Mr. Karadzic and Mr.
Mladic were guilty for all Moslem's victims in the war, how much is then
Alija Izetbegovic guilty for proven atrocities of Naser Oric against
Serbian people near Srebrenica, because, it is well known, Izetbegovic,
after Oric committed crimes, promoted him in higher rank of brigadier and
gave him the decoration of "Golden lily".
BERLIN - The recent meeting of the chiefs of diplomacy of U.S. and Croatia,
Madeleine Albright and Mate Granic in Washington did not bring to Croatia
anything except unpleasant things - claims the Berlin's news "Junge Welt".
"Washington warned Zagreb that it didn't fulfil the provisions of Dayton
Agreement concerning the extradition of Croatian indicted for war crimes" -
quotes this news while stressing that Mrs. Albright warned Mr. Granic that
Croatian authorities do not protect Serbian people enough and condemned the
horrible violence against Serbian refugees who want to return to their
homes in Krajina.
MOSCOW - The president of Russia Boris Jeltzin presented to the delegates
of the Russian Parliament the basis of the future relations between Russia
and NATO, declaring himself for the ratification of the Convention on ban
in using the chemical weapons and Agreement Start 2 on reduction of
strategical nuclear weapons - reports DPA conveying the report of the
Russian agency Interfax. "The document on the security cooperation with
NATO- alliance is not a compromise" - said Mr. Jeltzin and warned
that Russia will examine its relations with the North Atlantic Alliance,
when they start to bring decisions regardless what Russia thinks of it".
ALGIERS - Nine persons, including the five year old girl, are the tragic
victims of the horrifying attacks of extremist Moslem groups which are
vandalising the Algiers - is written in the Algerian news reports. The
independent news "El Vatan" precisely states that extremists last night in
the city Sidy Mousy attacked the four members family, looted them and
burned the house, and killed them brutally.
