BELGRADE - Republika Srpska (RS) president Biljana Plavsic, rejected the objections saying she is opposing the linking of the Serbs from one and the other side of Drina river, assessing that 'the RS can survive only as a legal state, in other words, the state in the true sense of the word'. 'The war is over and the people want the law to be implemented and the budget strengthened', said Plavsic in an interview for the Belgrade 'Demokratija', warning: 'If the Main Board of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) does not recognise the people it is working with, and to which the only motivation is to earn money quickly, then it risks that the Party would loose the people's support'.

BANJALUKA - RS president Biljana Plavsic, met in Banjaluka with the French ambassador to B&H, Yves Gaudeul and the charge d'affaires of the US Embassy, Roberts Parmly, separately. The RS president and the French ambassador exchanged the opinions on the functioning of the joint bodies and institutions in B&H, the postponement of the donors' conference and the humanitarian projects for the reconstruction of RS.

SARAJEVO - The chief of the Russian Federation mission, Yakov Garsimov, delivered a message of the president of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly, E. Stroyev to the RS Parliament president, Dragan Kalinic. At the meeting which took place in Pale, they talked about the possibilities for the establishing of various kinds of parliamentary cooperation with the RS Parliament, the announcement made available from the president Kalinic's Cabinet.

PALE - The RS Parliament president, Dragan Kalinic, talked in Pale with advisors to the US Congress, John Hertzeberg and Marty Lassinger on the civil aspects of the implementation of the Dayton agreement and, especially, turning to freedom of movement and the return of refugees. SARAJEVO - RS minister of transportation and communications Nedeljko Laic, talked in Pale with the special assistant of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, Jacques Buret, on the plans and projects for the building of the telecommunication system in RS. Representatives of the World Bank got acquainted with the report on incomes and disbursement in the sector of telecommunications, which will help them to work out a study on public costs of the Bank, which will serve as a ground for the allocation of funds.

SARAJEVO - The Council of Ministers of B&H reached an agreement on the disputable articles of the foreign trade law and customs policy law, by which the discussion about the so-called 'package of laws' for the quick economic beginning was concluded. DOBOJ - A trial to 37 Muslims from Visoko, who are accused of beating and murdering of a Serb, Slavko Subotic, who recently attempted to visit his house in Cekrcici, started in the District court in Zenica, this was reported at IPTF and SFOR's press conference in Doboj. The IPTF spokesman, Andre Anneli, informed journalists that the joint police patrols (the international and Federation of B&H), which were set last week because of fears of the presence of Mujaheddins in the villages of Donja Bocinja and Maglaj, were resisted by the local population while they were patrolling along the area, but no major incidents occurred.

DOBOJ - The Muslim authorities in Tesanj ordered a Croat woman, Mara Bikic, to unconditionally abandon the house in which she was living so that a Muslim family would move in, reports IPTF in Doboj. SARAJEVO - Alija Izetbegovic and Haris Silajdzic have been trying for so long to find answers to the issues on the B&H future, for the current situation is favourable for the thinkings about its division into three parts, reports media in the FB&H. Citing the sources close to Muslim officials, the Sarajevo 'Slobodna Bosna' assesses that 'all the options are in play, and even the final division'.

SARAJEVO - The secretary of the Sarajevo branch of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Vancel Lasic, accused the Muslim authorities of hypocrisy, maintaining that 'without their consent none of the exiled is able to return to Sarajevo, while they are presenting themselves to the whole world as the only ones who are for the return of refugees'.
