SARAJEVO - The co-chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Dayton B&H, Boro Bosic, who is to preside over the Council's session, stated that he expects that an operating procedure of this body will be adopted soon and thus all the problems concerning its technical work would be resolved. "Although the agenda of the session has yet to be defined, the Council will probably evaluate the results of the Donor's Conference held in Brussels and discuss about the Council's tasks wish have resulted from the yesterday's forum of the economic policy of the Dayton B&H", stressed Bosic. Just before the beginning of the Council of Ministers' session which is to be held in the National Museum, the co-chairmen of the Council, Boro Bosic and Haris Silajdzic, talked in the British Embassy with the British defence minister, Michael Portillo, about the economic reconstruction of Republika Srpska (RS) and the Federation of B&H.

SARAJEVO - A session of the Council of Ministers has started in the National Museum in Sarajevo. It is expected that the members of the Council of Ministers will adopt an operating procedure of this body, which was agreed to at the first working meeting held on January 10. The issues concerning communications, PTT and finance will be also discussed.

SARAJEVO - In the name of all deputies and his own name, the president of the RS National Assembly, Dragan Kalinic, wished to the Serbian people a Happy Orthodox New Year. "The last year has been the first year lived in peace and the year in which we have become aware of our weaknesses but also of our qualities. We have realised that a lot depends not only from the sympathies or disregard on the part of the international community, but also from ourselves", stressed Kalinic.

SARAJEVO - RS defence minister Milan Ninkovic talked in Sarajevo with British Secretary of Defence Michael Portillo about the further implementation of the Dayton agreement, with a particular regard to the commitments of RS and the Federation of B&H (FB&H) stemming from the Agreement on sub-regional arms control. As SRNA learns from Ninkovic's Cabinet, the two ministers exchanged information on the SFOR's mandate and other current issues concerning the implementation of the Peace Agreement in the following period. Minister Ninkovic pointed at the detrimental consequences of the "Equip and Train" programme on the peace process.

BANJA LUKA - A member of the Main Board of the Serbian Patriotic Party (SPAS), Ilija Lukic, stated at a news conference in Banja Luka that Brcko is an integral part of the RS which, according to the maps of the Dayton agreement, has indivisible and compact territory. According to him, W of Brcko where on the half of the entire RS territory live about 1,000,000,000 residents, there are 65% of the total national resources. The Serbian people is living in constant fear that the international arbitrator, backed by US, might bring an unfair decision which would, as he said, cause catastrophic consequences.

BELGRADE - An academician, Dobrica Cosic, sent a word to the Board of the students'protest of the Faculty of Medicine and all the students of Nis University that their struggle for respecting the political will and the democratic rights of the people is the struggle for their own future. "You have started the revival of Serbia, your destiny is in your hands, and keep it until your country has become yours in each respect", said Cosic.

BELGRADE - The delegation of the '96/97 Students' protest will not attend the session of the Educational Board of Belgrade University; an information made available to SRNA from the cabinet of the rector of this university, Dragutin Velickovic. "Neither representatives of students protests nor journalists will attend the session, because the session, just as all previous sessions, is not opened for public", it was said in the cabinet of the rector of Belgrade University.

BELGRADE - The rector of Belgrade University, Dragutin Velickovic, told to representatives of the '96/97 students' protest that they have no right to attend the session of the Educational Board of this university, which is being held in Belgrade. As SRNA learns in the '96/97 students' protest Press Centre, Velickovic told to a member of the Initiative Board of the students' protest, Igor Zezelj, that "students' requirements will not be discussed at the session".
