THESSALONIKI - An academician, Milorad Ekmecic, assessed that the demonstrations launched by the coalition "Together" would make way for further independence of the leadership of Republika Srpska (RS), by which RS constant need to resist Belgrade's attamtps at its destabilising would wane. In his statement given in Thessaloniki upon the closing of the attempts Symposium on Greek politicians, statesmen and visionaries of cooperation between Balkan peoples, Evanelos Vanizelos and Aleksander Papanatais, where he represented the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts.

BEOGRAD - About 50,000 of residents of Belgrade again peacefully marched along the main city streets, protesting annulment of the second round of local elections. They laid a wreath with a message "Justice Died in Serbia" at the door of Serbia's Presidency building.

MOSCOW - Five years after leaders of Russia, Ukraine and Belorussia, Boris Yeltzin, Leonid Kravchuk and Stanislav Shushkerish, signed an agreement factually marking the break-up of the Soviet Union, media in Moscow assess that the achievements made in the five-year period cannot be seen as encouraging in any of these states.
