SARAJEVO - RS president Biljana Plavsic, thanked general Ratko Mladic, who officially handed over his duties to the General Staff, and the former Headquarters of VRS, "for everything they have done for the Serbian people and RS at these difficult times". "This lasted a little bit longer, for we dealt here with a very complex structure". said President Plavsic, after the ceremony handing over the duty between the authorised representative of the former Headquarters, general Manojlo Milovanovic and the chief of the General Staff, general Pero Colic.

SARAJEVO - A session of the Presidency of Dayton B&H will take place in Sarajevo, dealing with structure, number and staff composition of a Council of ministers. Deputy High Representative for Civil Affairs, Michael Steiner, announced that there is a compromise solution according to which a Council of Ministers will be comprised of three ministers, each of which will perform per two duties in the Council.

SARAJEVO - At the 1st session of the newly-elected RS government, held in Pale, the DM 132,000 payment for the purchase of a transmission tower intended for the periphery municipalities of the Krajina, and a transmitter for the Serb Radio to be installed on Mt. Kozara, is approved. Thus, the construction of a unique RTV system was - with the approved 200,000 dinars for the purchase of repro-material - completed in both the technical and engineering sense. About DM 4,5 million was invested for this purpose since March, 1996.

SARAJEVO - The secretary for agriculture, finance and budget in the Assembly of the Serb Sarajevo City, Ignjat Elcic, confirmed that the realisation of the first phase of Project 2 for building the city is progressing slowly because of poor weather conditions.

BELGRADE - The Belgrade City Electoral Commission has been since this morning summing up the results of the third round of local elections in the capital of Serbia. Official results are expected to be announced later today.

BELGRADE - Demonstrations of the opposition because of the annulment of the municipal election results are progressing in Belgrade. Several hundreds of students also took part in the protests, reports DPA.

TORINO - The Italian paper, La Stampa, published two articles on the coverage page, wherein, writing at the same time about the demonstrations in the two former Yugoslav Republics - Serbia and Croatia. Following the Croatian President Franjo Tudjman' attempts at shooting down Radio "101", the same thing is now happening in Belgrade with President Slobodan Milosevic wishing to put an end to the broadcasting of the Belgrade Radio B- 92 which is reporting in more details about the demonstrations.

AMSTERDAM - The legal proceeding against Dusko Tadic, represents a difficult and inglorious beginning for The Hague, concludes the Tribunal's correspondent Ela Rotenberg, acknowledging that "she is not so much impressed with its previous work".
