SRNA REVIEW OF EVENING NEWS, Aug. 21, 1996Srpska Republica News Agency (SRNA) Directory - Previous Article - Next ArticleFrom: Mirjana Petrovic <almirja@cotton.vislab.olemiss.edu>BANJALUKA - Vicepresident and acting president of Republika Srpska (RS), Biljana Plavsic, called this evening upon the citi zens gathered at a public seminar of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) held in the largest Banjaluka's local community of Laus, to come and vote for the SDS at the elections, "in order that we could certify our Republic in the proportion 1/1". "Let our slogan at such gatherings be: The past never to be forgotten, for this way we would know with who and how we will go into the future", sent a word Plavsic, the SDS presidential candidate for the September elections. BANJALUKA - The head of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) and speaker of the RS National Assembly, Nikola Poplasen, assessed in Banjaluka that "freedom is the greatest value and inheritance of the war, which the Serbian people will never give up". Speaking at this evening's public seminar, organised by the Banjaluka branch of the SRS at Banski Dvor's Cultural Centre, Poplasen said that "freedom is being defined on the way the interests of other peoples will not be endangered". BRCKO - The president of the Brcko branch of the SDS and candidate for a seat in the RS Assembly, Simo Kojic, called upon all citizens to come to the elections and "to confirm the legiti macy of the national movement from 1990, which has in the past four years of war created the Serbian state West of Drina". BRCKO - Since the Muslim authorities have already announced that they will boycott the local elections in Brcko, there will be no need for engaging IFOR and arranging special pooling sta tions in the city, as was planned, stated the president of Execu tive Board of the Brcko Municipal Assembly, Radoslav Bogicevic. The Muslim side yesterday officially informed the chief of the OSCE mission in Republika Srpska and the CroatMuslim Federation, Robert Frowick, of that they will not participate at the elec tions in Brcko. SRBAC - Before several hundreds of citizens, a popular assembly of the Democratic Patriotic Block (DPB) was held in Srbac under a slogan "Start Talking so I Could See You". DPB candidates Radovan Bjelogrlic, Ratko Adzic, Rajko Prodanovic, Dragutin Marovic, Mladen Ivanic and Predrag Radic addressed the assembly. BANJALUKA - The chairmen of the Consultative Council of political parties, Kennet Scott, concluded in Banjaluka that the Provisional Electoral Commission (PIK) has completed the work on establishing rules and regulations for the September elections in RS and the CroatMuslim Federation. At a regular the Council's session, he confirmed that "any change to the electoral regula tions to be adhered to by participants of the upcoming elections - is out of question". BANJALUKA - RS member in the Provisional Electoral Commis sion (PIK), Slobodan Kovac confirmed that president and vice president of RS will be elected according to a majority but not to a proportional system, as was established on all other elec toral levels. In a statement for SRNA, Kovac pointed out that the Serb side has put a lot of their efforts at PIK's sessions all until this [Serb side's] proposal was accepted. SARAJEVO - The Election Appeals SubCommission asked for the removal of HDZ candidate Vlade Bevanda, from the party's list for an official of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) illegally took the completed voter registration forms in Jaseni ca. "Because of serious violation of integrity, confidentiality and nonpartisan nature of the voter registration process, as was the act of this HDZ's official assessed, the Electoral Appeals SubCommission also decided to penalise the HDZ to pay $10,000 fine and to immediately dismiss the local election com mission president in Mostar. HAGUE - Attorneys of Dusan Tadic, asked for calling of of 21 out of 31 accusation allegations by which The Hague has bring charges against their client, this was reported in The Hague.
