BELGRADE - The president of the Democratic Party (DS) Zoran Djindjic assessed the decision made by President Radovan Karadzic of Republika Srpska (RS) not to run for the upcoming elections as a display wisdom, by which national interests are given prima cy over the personal ones. "We are sure that president Karadzic would win the elections if he was candidate for the same", stated Djundjic, adding that the international community is ought to, under new circumstances, equally treat both RS and the Croat Muslim Federation. AMSTERDAM - Following hearings of two soldiers from the UNPROFOR base in Srebrenica as witnesses to indictment against RS leaders, it became clear that the Holland "Blue Helmets" have nothing to say supportive to the charges by the Hague Tribunal concerning several thousands civilians killed in the enclave. The case of soldiers and their commander - who are neither able to confirm any of the allegations, or can say that they noticed anything similar - remains one of the weakest points of the indictment. HAMBURG - The Holland soldiers and their principals deployed as a part of the UN peace forces in Srebrenica, gave credit to Serb soldiers and officers for their correct behaviour towards the Muslim residents, says the German paper Frakfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, in its reports from the hearings of witnesses to the indictment against Serb leaders. DOBOJ - A bridge on the Usora was opened today at Usce,the very vicinity of Doboj. The bridge is on the border between Republika Srpska (RS) and the CroatMuslim Federation.The bridge, 127,5 m long, was opened by the IFOR Engineer Units commander, US general Moor Beak and the commander of the NordicPoland Brigade, Jan Bergstrom. BANJALUKA - The Coordination Board of the Alliance for Peace and Progress (SMP) presented in Banjaluka its candidates for the upcoming elections in RS and the Federation. The SMP presiden- tial candidate is president of the Socialist Party of RS Zivko Radisic, and the candidate for RS vicepresident is Nedjo Djuric from Banjaluka. BANJALUKA - The Steering Board of the Party of Private Initiative (SPI) announced it will not take part at the elections as a part of the Democratic Patriotic Block. The decision was brought because of "disagreement with the Democratic Patriotic Block regarding realities on the ground at the present moment". BANJALUKA - The Serbian Party of the Krajina (SSK) named Predrag Lazarevic as the first on the list of deputies for the RS National Assembly, and Branko Latinovic for a member of the joint presidency of the Union B-H. Lazarevic stated that SSK will not have its candidate for the presidential elections, but is satis fied for the SDS named Biljana Plavsic as a presidential candi date. BIJELJINA - LjiljanaTina Peric form Bijeljina and Milorad Milakovic from Prijedor, members of the Party of Serb Unity (SSJ)are candidates for the RS Presidency. ZVORNIK - Candidates for of the Democratic Party of Federal ists are Dragan Djokanovic for president and Djuradj Davidovic for vicepresident of RS. BEOGRAD - The president of the National Party of Monte Ngro (NS CG) Novak Kilibarda called upon all leaders of the Socialdem ocratic Party of Monte Negro, Democratic Party, Democratic Party of Serbia, the Serbian Renewal Movement, and the Civic Alliance, to meet by the end of July in Podgorica to agree the coalition of all parties for the Federal Elections. BEOGRAD - The Serbian Radical Party (SRS) will present its candidates for the Federal elections at all voting places in Serbia and Monte Negro, says the SRS announcment. The SRS will candidate its president, Vojislav Seselj, for deputy of the Federal Assembly, in Novi Beograd and Zemun. NOVI SAD - The vicepresident of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Maja Gojkovic, stated for SRNA that the policelegal perse- cutions against her and the SRS president for the JuznoBacko Area, Milorad Mircic, started upon an order of Serbian president Slobodan Mlosevic. BUSOVACA - The Canton president of the Croatian Party of Law (HSP) for the central Bosnia and the valley of Lasva, Andrija Brodaric stated today that his political party "will fought by all means permitted for strengthening of the statehood of the Croatian Republic of HercegBosnia (HR HB) and for having links with the Republic of Croatia". KOTOR VAROS - The former Seventh Muslim Corps commander, the mayor of Sanski Most, Mehmed Alagic, assessed that the Mostar elections are the best indicator of the situation prevailing in the MuslimCroat Federation.
