REVIEW OF EVENING NEWS, MAY 31, 1996

SARAJEVO - The minister of internal affairs of Republika Srpska (RS) Dragan Kijac, accused some IFOR units and members of violating the Dayton agreement, and warned that he will be forced to undertake all needed legal measures if such as behaviour continues. A letter which he sent, thought the IPTF commissioner, to IFOR commander Leighton Smith, says that cases of restriction of freedom of movement, as well as other illegal measured applied to RS citizens, opposed to the Dayton agreement, are not in decrease, but in an increase.

BRCKO - With an excuse to residents of Brcko, the OSCE Electoral Commission, corrected its mistake by which this Serb city was placed in the Tuzla canton of the MuslimCroat Federa- tion. "Brcko is an integral part of RS, as OSCE treats it, and the mistake emerged because the territory was divided between two entities", says the excuse sent to the Electoral Commission in Brcko, sent by the OSCE Banjaluka Regional Centre chief Ronald Dryer.

BANJALUKA - The deputy president of the Interim Electoral Commission working under OSCE, Kenneth Scot, stated in Banjaluka that the deadline for the registration of the political parties was moved from 7 to 14 June. At a consultative meeting with all political parties which will take part at the elections, Scot announced that the elections will most probably be held within the planned deadline, i.e until 14 September this year, at lat est".

SARAJEVO - The IFOR spokesman, Aleksander Ivanko stated that numerous mistreatments of the Serbs were registered in Sarajevo and Visoko. "Over 70 cases of mistreatment of the Serbs were registered, 400 incursions into houses and damaging of property, and 37 cases of dislodgement of the Serbs Sarajevans", explained Ivanko.

DOBOJ - Almost nine months after NATO bombing, significant changes were noted in nature and behaviour of animals, warned workers and activists of the Civilian Security from the Doboj, Posavina and Semberija regions, at a meting held in the "Mramor" Hotel on the Mt. Ozren. At the meeting, aimed at presenting observations of residents after last year's NATO bombing cam paign, of unusual rainfalls.
