[01] FIRM FRIENDSHIP
Our countries are bonded by a firm friendship, preserved through great
tests, said Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, receiving yesterday Mr. Alecos
Michaelidis,The Republic of Cyprus' Foreign Secretary . During cordial and
friendly talks it was underlined that the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and
Cyprus, as well as their nations, are bonded by traditional friendship, mutual
understanding and closeness, upon which the continuous and fruitful cooperation
in different fields of mutual interests are based. The mutual interest was
stressed to improve the cooperation of the Yugoslav and Cyprus industrial
partners, and in the coming period the cultural, educational and sports
cooperation will be intensified. Minister Michaelidis passed to the President
Milosevic the regards of the Cyprus' Prime Minister Cleridis and renewed the
invitation to Presdient Milosevic to make an official visit to Cyprus.

[02] COOPERATION IN ALL FIELDS
The Foreign Ministers of FR Yugoslavia and Cyprus, Mr. Milan Milutinovic
and Mr. Alecos Michaelidis signed yesterday the Yugoslav-Cyprus agreement on the
Program of Cooperation and the Protocol on the cooperation between the Foreign
Ministries of the two countries. In their statement to the press, the estimated
that the relations between the two countries and traditionally close and good,
and that the signed agreements are the basis for the further, more fruitful and
closer cooperation in all the fields of mutual interest. During this meeting we
have again stressed that we highly appreciate the Cyprus' understanding and
supporting the principles of FR Yugoslavia, and especially the unselfish, vast
and timely humanitarian aid, which we consider as another confirmation of the
sincere solidarity of Cyprus with our country and nations in the hard times we
had, said Minister Milutinovic.

[03] NORMALIZATION OF RELATIONS BETWEEN SRY AND USA BE EXPEDITED
The Leader of the New Democracy Party, Mr. Dusan Mihajlovic, who is paying
a working visit to the United States. talked yesterday in Washington with the US
Government officials on the expedition of the normalization and intensifying of
the bilateral relations between the two countries. It was assessed that the
conditions are ripe for a more intensive development of relations and that this
represents a mutual interest. With the lifting of sanctions against Yugoslavia,
the possibilities increase for its quicker and wider incorporation into the
international flows and organizations. The American side, in the same context,
stressed the significance and the positive scope of the fact that in the
meantime the normalization of relations between Yugoslavia and the countries ,
originated by the disintegration of former Yugoslavia.

[04] DIPLOMACY HELPING INDUSTRIAL COOPERATION
USA Embassy Charge d' Affairs in Belgrade, Mr. Richard Miles, on his own
request, visited yesterday the Ferrous Metallurgy Concern "Sartid 1913" and with
the executives of this industrial giant discussed the possibilities of
cooperation with the American firms, as well as the improvement the total
Yugoslav-American industrial cooperation. The General Manager of "Sartrid"
underlined the fact that after the suspension of sanctions, the situation in the
concern has been consolidated and that the monthly productions reached the total
amount of 80.000 tons of steel plates and strips.
Great Britain's Ambassador in Yugoslavia, Mr. Ivor Roberts with his
assistants visited yesterday the Industry of Fireproof material "Magnohrom" and
the private enterprise "Drvoplast" in Kraljevo. Ambassador expressed a
particular interest in the business connections with the British industry.
Saying that he was impressed with what he saw in Serbia in the last two years,
since he hold the position of an Ambassador, Mr. Roberts paid tribute to the
Serbian people and workers for passing trough all the difficulties of the
economic blockade and added, that with the lifting of sanctions, Serbia is
entering a new period, being at the same time a new challenge.

[05] TERROR RAGING IN VELIKA KLADUSA
At the territory of Western Bosnia, cruel political and all other kind of
terror is ruling and nobody tries to stop that. During the last few days, there
were tens of bombings, property destroying, fires, demolition and physical
abuse.
This is happening in the part of Bosnia that during the war tried to keep
neutral. This was enabled to Mr. Fikret Abdic, the leader of this part of
Bosnia, by the Republic of Srpska Krajina, Republic of Srpska and Croatia, and
was severely denied by Sarajevo. The Fifth Corps of the B&H Army, a year ago,
violently attacked this area and since then the revenge never stops. The terror
rages not only in Kladusa, but in many other places under the control of the
Government in Sarajevo, since the ruling Party of Democratic Action most often
uses terror as their tactics, said Professor Mico Carevic from Banja Luka. It
all began when the Moslem troops of the Fifth Corps started burning down the
Moslem villages, till then unimaginable fact. The situation in Kladusa is now
being described as helpless, since the IFOR Forces do not show any good will to
protect the endangered population. This is also the subject of the statement
made by Mr. Irfan Saracevic , one of the representatives of the opposing party,
the Democratic National Community, that the SDA intends to establish an Islamic
state that will give Europe an headache. Croatia, extending hospitality to Mr.
Abdic, obviously has its calculation on the Western Bosnia, but at the moment
this is not helping those people. It is difficult to understand why any of the
representatives of the peace and humanitarian organizations do not go there,
including Ms Elisabeth Renn personally.

[06] THE COALITION BROKEN IN ZENICA
The Representatives of the Croatian Democratic Community in the Assembly of
the Zenica canton, left yesterday the constitutive session of the canton, since
the quality in adopting vital decision was not guaranteed to them, reported the
Croat radio Herzeg- Bosnia. The Leadership of Croatian Democratic Community of
Zenica, strongly objected to the Moslems having appointed the commander of the
Third Corps of the Moslem Army, Sakib Mahmulyanin as the election list bearer,
sine Mahmulyanin is the most responsible that the mujahedins and other foreign
mercenaries are still staying in this territory. Paying no attention to the
absence of HDZ representatives, the Moslem held the constitutive session of the
Zenica canton assembly and all by themselves elected the officials. The Croats,
from the same reason, left the constitutive session of the Sarajevo Cantonal
Assembly last week.
