[12] 'EVIDENCE' FIFTY YEARS OLD

A Serb from Pakrac, M.K. (70 years old) was sentenced to 14 years in prison in Slavonska Pozega, for the alleged murder of a Croat, committed during World War Two. Arrested in Pakrac on May 9, 1996 after the aggression of the Croat Army on Western Slavonia, M.K. was suspected of crimes in the latest war. Since there were no proof for crimes during the time of existence of the Republic of Serbia Krajina, the court in Pozega indicted the accused of the crime committed at the time of the Independent State of Croatia. The defendant M.K. was the member of the partisan units, and the alleged victim was the soldier of the Ustashi leader Ante Pavelic, which is actually showing the true face of the Croat legal justice.
