Tilos, romantic and mysterious, away from the mainstream, is home to near
300 inhabitants. This corner of the Dodecanese has been inhabited since
the Neolithic age, and has known captivity, much like the rest of the area,
to only be reunited with mainland Greece in 1948. In Tilos the visitor has a chance for a relaxing holiday, with trips to
the Knights Castle, the Monastery of Agios Panteleimon and the ruins of the church of Archangel Michael, in Megalo Horio. The most beautiful, sandy beach on the island is outside Megalo Horio, in Erystos, while Agios Antonios and Livadia are also quite beautiful, combining of pebble and sand.
