The island of Kastelorizo has a few picturesque coffee shops where one can enjoy coffee or juice, as well as the scenery's peace and quiet. The pastry shops serve tasty sweets baked in the oven, such as the traditional "Katsoumaria", a kind of sweet pie, "strava", a kind of backlava and the local "halvas". In the town, there are a few restaurants and tavernas such as "Orea Megisti", "Eftihia", and "Platania", where one can taste fresh fish and local dishes such as "giouvarlakia" and "chick-pea pie".
