The city of Andros, Gavrio and Batsi are the places that attract tourists the most. There, one can find quiet small coffee-shops, but social and crowded ones as well, where one can enjoy a cup of coffee, a juice or a refreshment, such as "Ramones" cafe where delicious pancakes and coffee are served in the morning. At the pastry shops and the coffee-shops of Andros the delicious local "amigdalota"(almond candy) are served, as well as stewed fruit in various flavours and "skaltsounia". At the tavernas and the island's restaurants all kinds of seafood snacks and local traditional delicacies are served, such as "frutalia" omelette made of tasty local sausages, fresh cheese and the famous Easter food "lambriati" made of lamb or veal cooked in the oven with entrails, cheese, rice, eggs and mint. At the area between Batsi and Gavrio there is "Giannouli" restaurant with a picturesque and quiet yard and "Estiatorio o Valmas" while at the harbour area, at Gavrio, at "Ouzeri tis Katerinas" local ouzo with delicious ouzo-snacks are served. At Batsi there is the restaurant "Tikalo" and at Hora "Stathmos" with delicious homemade dishes. A stroll along Nimborio could finish with a meal at "Delfinia", while at "Tasso" at Apikia and at the taverna "Asimolevka" at Ipsilou local homemade dishes are served as well as the famous local dried-in-the-sun wine. For those who do not like seafood there are "Taverna tou Giorgou" and "Platanos" at Hora, or the picturesque tavernas at the village Paraporti and the site Katakoilo where grilled dishes are served. At "Balkoni tou Aigaiou"(Aegean balcony) at Ano Aprovato with the magnificent view, one can taste the famous "rooster cooked with wine" dish, while at "Steki tou Andrea No2", at Felo, delicious veal or roasted chicken is served. A stroll along Agios Kiprianos can end up in a huge meal of a big seafood variety at the village's fish tavernas, while at Lontza's restaurants delicious home-cooked dishes are served.
