Thanasis Protopapas

He was born in Athens in 1969 and grew up in Vyronas. He graduated from the Dept. of Physics of the University of Patras in 1991 and holds Sc.M. degrees in Cognitive Science (1993) and Electrical Engineering (1995) and a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science (1996) from Brown University. He is currently with Scientific Learning Corporation at San Francisco, CA, where he is involved in research and development of speech training therapy for children with language learning disabilities. His research interests include human speech perception and its development, as well as processing, recognition, and synthesis of speech using computers.

In HR-Net he created a Greek font set and helps Unix users install and use it. He has also contributed in the development and maintenance of web pages for outside organizations.
