What's New on HR-Net?
UPDATE: 2 October 1996
- ATHENS NEWS AGENGY
- One or two bulletins of news in Greek and a daily news updates in English
are now available from the Athens News Agency (ANA). ANA has also
provided a daily news bulletin in English and the Athens press review in
Greek both of which are archived on HR-Net since 1993.

- CYPRUS PPRESS AND INFORMATION OFFICE
- Daily news updates in English, as well as announcements and
statements by the Cypriot government both in Greek and in English are
now available through the Press and Information Office (CYPIO). The CYPIO
also provides the review of the Turkish Cypriot press (and other media)
which has been archived on HR-Net since November 1995.

MAJOR UPDATE: 20 September 1996
- INTERNET CONNECTION UPGRADE TO T1 (1,544Kbps)
- In response to the ever-increasing popularity of HR-Net, and in anticipation of the increased demand due to the Greek Elections (September 22nd) a series of upgrades has been performed on our systems, featuring the upgrade of our Internet connection to a dedicated T1 (1,544Kbps) line to our provider, BBN Planet.

- ELECTIONS COVERAGE
- Results of the September 22nd Parliamentary Elections in Greece and related
information will be available on HR-Net on the night of the elections and
on the following days.

UPDATE: 12 September 1996
- NEW LOOK OF HR-NET
- A new, more flexible and more informative first page was installed
accompanied by changes in graphics and a rearrangement of the material
in pages at the next level. The outstanding feature of the new design
is a page where all the HR-Net accessories are collected for easy
reference:

One such tool added to the collection is a simple search engine for
readers equipped to enter Greek (ELOT 928) text:

UPDATE: 28 August 1996
- NEW MAIL FORMAT FOR NEWS DISTRIBUTION
- The following news sources, which carry news in Greek with the Greek
character set ELOT-928, are now distributed in plain and in MIME encoding.
The latter has been implemented to ensure reliable e-mail transmission.
The new mail option can be activated via the HR-Net Personal NewPaper at:

- WINDOWS NT COMPUTING IN GREEK PAGES
- Material in the "Computing in Greek" pages is updated on a regular
basis. The latest addition is a set of pages for using Elot928 fonts on
