Emphasis welcomes submissions of material that relates to the journal's subject matter.
All written submissions must be made in triplicate, although electronic submissions are preferred. Submissions should use parenthetical or internal citations and a works cited page following the conventions of the MLA Handbook. Submissions must also include a standard self-addressed envelope. We take no responsibility for the return of manuscripts and suggest you submit copies and not originals. Quotations should appear in their original language. The Editors will consider all material submitted, but do not guarantee their publication. Facsimiles will not be accepted as final submissions.
Every article published in the journal should be no more than 7-10 pages in length. This size is equivalent to:
- 3100-4430 words or
- 12910-18440 characters or
- 7-10 double spaced pages with 12p font and 1 inch margins
All the articles should be typed and/or delivered in electronic format. The following electronic formats are acceptable:
Articles written on IBM compatible computers may be delivered in 3.5 or 5.1/4 inch diskettes, in Word 6.0, Windows Write, ASCII, or RTF Text
Articles written on Macintosh may be delivered in 3.5 High Density diskettes, and only in Word 6.0 , ASCII, or RTF formats.
Graphs must be submitted in Excel, Paradox, or CorelChart formats.
Articles may also be sent via e-mail in ASCII format to emphasis@hri.org
