The sovereignty issue was discussed in today's meeting of Cypriot President Glafkos Clerides and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash. The meeting was held within the framework of the direct talks on Cyprus that resumed today after the summer recess, according to the Cypriot news agency CNA.
In today's meeting each side presented its positions on the sovereignty issue. However, Mr. Denktash submitted neither a plan, nor proposals on the issue.
The meeting that lasted just over an hour took place in the presence of UN secretary-general special adviser on Cyprus Alvaro de Soto.
