As with any major urban civil works project, cooperation with the many utilities providing basic services is essential to project success, cost and schedule control and for relations with the general public. In the process of diverting public utilities, the infracture is being modernized as new material replaces the old. The efforts to date have resulted in minimal disruptions to the citizens of Athens.
