DEMOCRATIC SOCIAL MOVEMENT
Brief History
The Democratic Social Movement was founded on December 20, 1995 by Dimitris Tsovolas, who has served as Minister of Finance and was a leading member of the PASOK cabinet between 1981-89. The resolution of DHKKI's establishment was announced in Thessaloniki.
Leadership
The President of DHKKI is Dimitris Tsovolas. In June 1996, the party's panhellenic conference appointed a 100-member central committee which, in turn, appointed a political secretariat over which Mr. Tsovolas presides.
Organizational Structure
The party is organized upon a prefectural base while temporary prefectural committees have been elected.
